Review: Invivo Essential Fractionated Coconut Oil #invivoessential

Good Stuff
I've been a fan of coconut oil for the past year, which surprises me because I hate everything else that is coconut.  When I was going to the gym everyday and eating better I was even cooking with coconut oil.

I did some research and found out that fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of coconut oil.  What the heck does that mean?!?!  Fractionated oil is a more stable oil, with a very long shelf life.  It is a fraction of the coconut oil in which almost all of the long chain triglycerides are removed, leaving only the medium chain triglycerides making it absolutely saturated.  This saturation gives it stability and a long shelf life.  Fractionating also raises the concentrations of Capric and Caprylic Acids, making it more of an antioxidant and disinfectant.

That definition still confuses me.  All I know is that the Fractionated Coconut Oil will pretty much last a really long time, it stays in a purely liquid form and it doesn't really have that coconutty smell. It can be used in a variety of ways:

  • Make soaps, lotions and other cosmetics
  • It is an excellent carrier oil for use with other essential oils
  • It is an antiseptic and disinfectant
  • Can be used as part of your hair care routine
  • Cooking
The Invivo brand of Fractionated Coconut Oil is probably one of my favorite.  I'm not just saying that because I got it for free to review.  I really, genuinely like it for a few different reasons.  First of all, I love the big bottle it comes in, and I love the font that they used on the label.  I also really like it because it doesn't smell at all like coconut.  It saved my life the other day when I decided to use lavender and peppermint essential oil straight on.  I didn't use the oils together, but I mistakenly used them at different times without using the carrier oil... and let's just say BOTH times were huge mistakes.

I personally have used this Invivo Fractionated Coconut Oil as a makeup remover, face moisturizer, diaper rash ointment, on my son's super chapped lips (which make him look like a clown), on my other son's dry patches on his cheeks/arms, and to ease the pain of the peppermint oil I applied directly to my forehead!!  This comes in a nice 16 ounce bottle and is 100% pure!
