Starlooks LooksBook: September "Revival" #starlooksaddicts

I'm a product reviewer, so it's no lie when I say I get bombarded by packages on a daily basis.  Even though I get different treats daily, I get most excited about my Starlooks LooksBook.  September was "Revival" and really gets me out of my comfort zone.

Definition of revival as a verb:  an instance of something becoming popular, active or important again (Google search definition).

This month's theme was an urban jungle - which would explain why the packaging resembles the jungle.  Good job Starlooks!

  • Agave Eyeshadow Duo (ES3) - super pigmented, very earthy.  I'm not accustomed to wearing shades of red on my eyes, but I am known to play with green.  The combo is beautiful together!
  • Flora Spectrum Mascara (SMAS1) - resembles a dark hunter green, only really noticeable when certain light hits it.  Nonclumping and makes my lashes look great!
  • Rawr Matte Lipstick (MLS1) - goes on smooth and has absolutely no shine at all (matte, duh). This lipstick is extremely long lasting!  I put some on, ate, drank and it was STILL on my lips. I would rate this lipstick 100 stars for longevity and the shade is really pretty, too!

Showing off my "RAWR"
So why do I love these LooksBook so much?  What's not to love?  Each book comes as a theme and includes three amazing pieces.  There is an informative book on the cover which explains the ways to use each piece of makeup.  This is great for someone like me because I'm no good with makeup!

Starlooks offers different subscription types.  This LooksBook subscription is $12 per month, but if you prepay for three months you save $4.  I seriously cannot get enough of this makeup and would die if I stopped receiving it!  Lucky for me I received this complimentary for review purposes.  It's totally worth the purchase, though!

Starlooks LooksBook: Resort Edition

Oh Starlooks, how I love you.  A few years ago I discovered the world of beauty subscriptions, and since then I've played around with different services.  The one beauty sub that has stayed tried and true and never defaulted from their edginess or fashion forward style is Starlooks.

I've always been a fan of Starlooks and the different makeup and tools they included in the monthly box.  Starlooks has even sent me a birthday surprise when I first signed up.  Now they have changed the way they do things, but it's still great.

One of the new features is the LooksBook.  It is $12/month and includes 3 almost full size pieces of makeup to make up that month's "look."  Also included is a pamphlet to explain how to apply the makeup.  The best part of this "book" is that the 3 pieces and the pamphlet are all neatly put into a box.

Summer 2015 is the Resort Edition and includes:

  • Water Eyeshadow in shade WS1 Aqua
  • Highlight/Blush Duo in shade BHD1 Tropic/Ritz
  • Gloss Finish Lipstick in Jet Set

Let me tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS!!  I am normally not a fan of blue eye shadow, but this aqua color gives a nice tint, especially against tan skin.  It's even great to use a a highlighter under the brow bone (lightly, of course).  I'm in love with the lipstick.  Jet Set is such a beautiful shade - it's neutral with just a perfect hint of color.  It feels so nice on my lips - not thick like some lipsticks can feel.  The highlighter/blush duo is perfection.  I'm normally pale and these are the perfect shade to make me look healthy and bright.

After perusing the Starlooks website, I see that you can prepay for the LooksBook membership and get a 10% discount for three months.  They also have other wonderful products (and a custom Starbox subscription if the LooksBook isn't for you).

For $12 (per month) you can't lose.  This is worth even just trying.  I promise, you will love it!

Review: Softnia High Density Memory Foam Gray Seat Cushion

I originally got this Softnia Coccyx Seat Cushion for my fiance but when it arrived I decided to give it to my mom... after I sat on it for a little while.  Wow this seat cushion is amazing!  It is thick and curved in all the right spots.  It's firm, but in a soft, comfortable way.  That makes no sense right?  LOL.  The pillow is about 3 inches thick and the exact size of my dining room seat.  The material is plush and velvety, and zips shut (I'm assuming it's washable).

My mom loves this cushion - she keeps it on her chair that she sits in every night.  At 69 years old, nothing is easy or comfortable for her and she used to sit on pillows.  That's why I gave her this much more comfortable Softnia Coccyx seat cushion!

This seat cushion:

  • Reduces tailbone & lower back pain
  • Helps prevent pressure ulcers
  • Provides lasting comfort with high density memory foam that does not lose its shape over time
  • Evenly distributes body weight
  • Promotes circulation in legs
  • Antibacterial and antifungal foam
  • Cover is machine washable
  • Great for men & women under 250lbs
  • Easy to travel with

Review: Butterfly Kiss Waterproof Vibrator

My very first review for Good Vibes!  I am excited and nervous to get this posted.  I don't want to disappoint the other Good Vibes affiliates, or disappoint the people at Good Vibes entrusting me to represent their brand!

So, the first vibrator I tried out was the Butterfly Kiss Waterproof Vibrator.  I will admit the size and shape perplexed me at first.  The soft silicone feel of it, though, was nice.  Let me go over the specs with you:

  • 2 AAA batteries (not included)
  • One power button that turns it on/off and controls the speed
  • 3 speeds
  • 7" long, 3" insertable, 1.25" diameter
  • Waterproof
  • Phthalate free
  • Shaped to hit the g-spot
I'm one that prefers clitoral stimulation.  Don't get me wrong, penetration is nice, too, but all of my vibrators have to have a clit attachment.  The ones that don't are not as much fun for me.

I did like that it only had one button for everything.  Saves me from fumbling around looking for what to press!  The antennas and wings of the butterfly are supposed to hit your clitoris and vibrate in any one of three speeds, and then the ball at the tip is supposed to be shaped to hit your g-spot.  The silicone is super soft and odorless (yes I smelled it; I'm weird).  With it being silicone and the battery being well hidden the toy is waterproof (in case you want bath/shower play).  The toy is not super quiet but it's quiet enough.  You wouldn't be able to hide this when it was on.

Overall I'm very happy with this toy.  I love that it's not the typical rabbit shaped vibrator.  I love that it's a turquoise blue.  I love that it's waterproof.  I'd love it more if it was rechargeable!

Check it (and other toys) out right here!

Review: Sip Stainless Steel Straight Straws

I admit. I'm a kid when it comes to using a straw. Plus I can't handle drinking a beverage with ice without a straw. Just a weird sensitivity I have. I've recently become a fan of stainless steel straws. I wasn't totally a fan because they aren't flexible so you're stuck drinking them in that curved position. Not always easy for me; definitely not easy for my kids. I really like these straight straws because they're a bit easier to use.  I know they're more expensive than the disposable straws you buy, but over time they do pay for themselves!  Plus these Sip Sip straws come with a little brush so it's super easy to clean them!

These straws are BPA free and easy to clean.  They are the same size as a standard straw so smoothies, milkshakes and sodas can be drunk with ease.  Even though they are stainless steel they don't fluctuate in temperature much so your drink will remain a consistent temp, too!

Check them out on Amazon right here!

Review: Sublime Beauty 9 Piece Sampler Box

I normally use the Sublime Face Whisperer Day Cream so I KNEW I would love this 9 piece sampler set.  First of all, everything smells AMAZING, especially the Vitamin C and Cellulite Cream/Gel.  I'm used to cellulite creams smelling gross, and Sublime Beauty definitely made sure their's did not.  Of the 9 items, 5 come in little tubs and 4 come in pump bottles.  I tried each product on the back of my hand for now and they all absorb quickly and clearly.  None of the products leave nasty, oily residue.

This 9 piece kit contains:
Collagen Serum (4-5 apps)
Retinol Serum (4-5 apps)
Hyaluronic Serum (4-5 apps)
Glycolic Serum (4-5 apps)
Collagen Mask (1-2 apps)
Vitamin C Cream (4-5 apps)
Cellulite Whisperer Gel and Lotion (1-2 apps each)
Facial Oil (4-5 apps)

I love this set, as I love all the other Sublime products I've tried.  I definitely recommend them!

You can find them on Amazon right here!
